This is the title of one of the most important artists books in dutch art.  Yes, of course tghis is my personal opinion, but look at it and you will undoubtedly agrre with me.

The publication was neglegted for over 3 decades, but now that the art of Dekkers is discovered again, the interest in his publications rises too. ……and, this is one of the nicest and best of his publications . Just some details. designed by Baer Cornet, printed by one of the best in the business, Rosbeek, who were up to the extreme printing qualities of the drawings that had to be reproduced in this 1977 publication. Oblong shaped, cahier stitching and a very small print run makes this a highly desirable and collectable artist book and available at www.ftn-books.com

Wout Muller (1946-2000)

Wout Muller , a member of the group of New Realist painters will certainly grow in importance and appreciation in the next decades to come. His technique and detailing is the best possible and his compositions are timeless. In many cases the paintings and drawings contain some erotic elements, which make their appeal certain for all decades to come.

Of course there are other realist painters who use erotic elements to enhance their paintings. Melle, Aat Veldhoen and Hans Kanters are among them, but none of them knows exactly how to create a landscape that looks more than a “dream” and has the softness needed to be an outstanding painting and not an ensemble of erotic objects. Yes, from all these painters Wout Muller is my personal favorite. www.ftn-books.com has some wout Muller titles available.

Because of the Robert Mueller that is in the new at these days ai was reminded of the Robert Muller who made some wonderful drawings and sculptures in the sixies and presented those in an exhibition in the Stedelijk Museum in 1968 ( Crouwel designed catalogue).muller tek a

Try to find some information on Robert Muller at these days and it is almost impossible to find anything except for the books i placed on the internet for sale at www.ftn-books.com. Perhaps Muller is almost forgotten or the other FBI ROBERT MUELLER pushes all information away, but not deservedly. This Robert Muller i admire has made some of the nicest most impressive little sculptures i know of in the sixties and is a typical sixties artist and deserves a place among the best sixties artists.

Thomas Schütte (1954)

Schermafbeelding 2017-06-02 om 09.35.44

The German sculptor Thomas Schütte is constructing a museum to house his artwork in the town of Hombroich, located about 16 km (10 miles) southeast of Düsseldorf.

The new structure—which will offer 700 square meters (1,300 sq. ft.) of floor space when completed—was designed by Schütte, and is being built close to the grounds of the Museumsinsel Hombroich, a multi-building complex that also houses the collection of the German collector Karl-Heinrich Müller……

I just encountered this old news on the internet and was reminded about the sculptures i had seen by Schuette, when Rudi Fuchs was director of the Gemeentemuseum. Since  i have seen his works on multiple occasions and whenever there was a catalogue published on the exhibitions i was full of admiration, because his catalogues are among the best published in the last 3 decades. There are several available at www.ftn-books.com. So in the near future when you visit the Dusseldorf area you can include Hombroich together with Bottrop to visit 2 exquisite museums.
