the final … Piet Dirkx weekly

This is the last of the “Piet Dirkx weekly” . After i had finished the cigarboxes 2 years ago and now the series publishing almost 80 Piet Dirkx weekly’s . This series has now come to an end.

Small, important, rare kinds of Piet Dirkx publications and collectibles have come along. Does this mean that there will no longer be any Piet Dirkx publications/ blogs anymore? Certainly not….. i will be preparing in the next months the material for another 60+ works by Piet Dirkx and will publish these in a “PIET DIRKX MONTHLY”.

For now i have decided this beautiful and cherished 2009 New Years wish by Piet Dirkx to conclude this series. It is a pencil and watercolor drawing. Signed  and colored by Piet.

measures 14 x 9 cm.

Arie van Geest …naar Beckmann, 1999

Schermafbeelding 2019-12-02 om 15.51.21

Recently i had the chance to acquire another Arie van Geest watercolor for the FTN art collection. The moment i saw it i was impressed and decided to make a bid. The watercolor is from the 17th of August of 1999 and fits perfect between the painting and another drawing i have in my inventory by Arie van Geest. I have grown fond of his art over the years. His earliest more abstract , fantasy like drawings are wonderful and his later paintings keep impressing and this drawing is one of the nicest i have seen by his hand. Both other drawings i have purchased i will keep for a later blog , but in case you are interested in purchasing do not hesitate to contact me at wvdelshout@ziggo.nl

Title of this drawing/watercolor is ” NAAR BECKMANN #, size paper 30 x 22 inches / ca. 75 x 55 cm.

Robine Clignett (1947)

It was by chance that i stumbled upon the works by Robine Clignett. Instantly recognizable art….. a combination of constructivist art which is further abstracted and put in a lansdscape which is abstracted also….i instantly liked it very much and it was added to my collection because i bought some graphic works by dutch artist from a small collection and the drawing that is below was within that collection.

I had to save it by carefully removing it from its backing board and what was left was an excellent Drwaing/watercolor by Robine Clignett. I contacted her that i had by chance bought this handcolored drawing and she was delighted to know where it now was. She excplained the difference in dating and confirmed the authenticity of the work. And now…. it is for sale, not because it is not appreciated but the colors do not match with anything in our interior. I hung it for several month upstairs but even there it does not match and shows its true qualities. So the drawing/ watercolor is now looking for a new home and is available at http://www.ftn-blog.com/ the FTN ART SECTION

The drawing is depicted on the Robine Clignett site. Robine Clignett has regular exhibitions at Maurits van der Laar gallery

Piet Dirkx….and now for something completely….special.

Schermafbeelding 2018-04-04 om 12.22.34

Readers following the “Piet Dirkx daily” know of my admiration for Piet’s his work.

We now have had over 600 cigarboxes and another 300 works to come. Among them cigarboxes, large paintings on wood and works on paper. Within the last category you will find the special of today. Piet made in 2005 some drawings/ gouaches to be sold in the shop of the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag and yes….i bought 3 of them and because i can only hang 2 from those three, i decided to sell the one that is still in one of my drawers.

It is certainly not the least out of those three and because if had first pick from the set which was to be sold i chose what i think were the best. Here it is …..A drawing like a series of open books and buildings, with a typical Piet Dirks mouth drawn in pencil upon them. Colorful, detailed and executed on perfectly square paper . It is the ideal Piet Dirkx composition upon a limited surface. (29,8 x 29,8 cm.)
