Beside the many exhibition posters for DE ZONNEHOF that i have added recently, there is also this publication on Gerrit Rietveld , who’s architectural design was chosen for the ZONNEHOF museum in Amersfoort. The book tells the story and history of the ZONNEHOF and Gerrit Rietveld, but what struck me most is that the photography was done by the very best in dutch photography from the past 100 years. The colofon reads like a “who is Who” in dutch photography..names: Eva Besnyö, Cas Oorthuys, Gerrit Oorthuys. the book is now available at www.ftn-books.com

Zonnehof Amersfoort posters
From the same source as the Crouwel posters of yesterdays blog comes this series of posters for the ZONNEHOF AMERSFOORT museum. Later this would become the Armando museum, but in the Sixties and Seventies they had their own small program of exhibitions. Well worth visiting and it is interesting to see that also a smaller dutch museum thought it important that design and typography of their publications was important. The main part of these series was designed by van den Brink. All are now available at www.ftn-books.com
Armando …signed publications
It was a few months ago that i was fortunate to buy a small collection of ARMANDO books. Only 25 cm’s of books, but among the 16 books , 6 were signed by the master himself. Since his death , Armando paintings, drawings and etchings have become highly collectable items and the books are no exception. Publications that are in most cases of a very high quality and the ARMANDO signature makes them even more wanted and collectable. ww.ftn-books.com has them now for sale, so please take a look at them at my site and search for the many Armando items i have for sale.
Armando (1929) . …and the Armando Museum/ MOA museum
At one time in the last decade there was a true Armando Museum in AMERSFOORT, but since a fire destroyed the museum in 2007 the largest part of the Armando collection had to be relocated and found a place in the MOA museum / Museum Oud Amelisweerd.

and of course this great short documentary in the series HOLLANDSE MEESTERS which is an excellent portrait of thsi dutch master.
This site contains over 2100 works by Armando , which makes it the most important public place on the internet to view the works by Armando (Herman Dirk van Dodeweerd). You can spent some great time over there, but what it lacks is the story and the essential timeline on the works by Armando. No problem , because www.ftn-books.com has some great titles on Armando available at http://www.ftn-books.com to read and see whyArmando is such a great artist.
